R.I.P. Ricardo Montalban -The Mexican-born actor best known to geeks as Khan (and best known to everyone else as Mr. Roarke on Fantasy Island) passed away yesterday at the age of 88.  He had been a Mexican film star before getting picked up by MGM for a series of flashy musicals, and the rest is history. We’ll miss you, Ricardo.

R.I.P. Patrick McGoohanThe Prisoner star also passed away yesterday at the age of 80.  McGoohan won two Emmys for two entirely different roles on Columbo and played King Edward Longshanks in Braveheart, but he’ll always just be Six to us. We’ll miss you, too.

Klingon Keyboard – I think a real geek would have remapped his or her current keyboard. Or changed it to Dvorak.

The Periodic Table of Awesoments – I don’t think it spoils anything to tell you that element number 1 is Bacon, followed by 2 Ninja. I can’t believe that Ramen is ranked higher than Black Holes, but what’ll you do.

John Barrowman to write Torchwood comic  – He’ll be collaborating with his sister, Carol E. Barrowman.

The Curious Case of VFX for Benjamin Button – Digital Domain explains how it approached the film.

Mickey Mouse autobot will destroy your roads, then hunt you down – Check out the look in his eye… he means business. More information here.

I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape – A 1983 music video. Via ecmyers.

RIAA file-sharing hearings to be webcast – A first for the internet, you can see all the glory of shouting lawyers streaming on the web.

Regarding the periodic table–

Am I the only one who wishes the whole Chuck Norris fad would just die out already?

Bob Saget? Does he have some awesomeness I’ve never seen? He hardly seems on the level of jedi or bacon.

Yeah, Bob Saget’s a better comedian than he generally gets credit for…way more twisted than his escapades on Full House or America’s Funniest Home Videos (shudder) would lead you to believe…

Still, there’s a lot of awesomeness out there; not sure Saget is actually one of the most basic elements…maybe if we tape some bacon to him.

I wasn’t a fan of The Aristocrats, but Saget earned my love for the two seconds he was in Half-Baked. Nothing gets me to forget Full House faster than Bob Saget talking about sucking cock for coke money. Good times!

My first exposure to Bob Saget’s potty mouth was in an episode of Quantum Leap. I was very surprised.

Sex at 113. Come on people, let’s not justify sterotypes.
